Balderdash is the classic bluffing game that is hilarious beyond belief!
Wacky Words & Fun Phrases!
The hilarious bluffing game that you can’t always believe what you read. Each card lists People, Words, Initials, Movies and Laws that you’ve probably never heard of. But that’s where the fun really begins, because you get to make up an answer that’s as silly or as serious as you want. Players make up phony answers, read them off along with the correct answer, and others vote on which answer is real. You score points for guessing the correct answer or successfully bluffing the other players. Would you believe that in Fairbanks, Alaska, it was illegal to serve beverages to a moose? You better, ’cause it’s true.

Is it real or is it Balderdash?
Each player rotates being The “Dasher” (or judge). During each player’s turn as The Dasher, he/she rolls the dice which will indicate which category to select. The Dasher then reads the unknown name, initials, or phrase on the card and the other players record what they think the correct answer is on their Balderdash pads. Once everyone has submitted an answer, the Dasher reads each answer aloud, including the correct answer and players vote on which answer they believe is the actual answer. Players score points and advance on the board by guessing the correct answer, or by bluffing other players to select their answer as the correct answer. The first player to the end of the board wins! So, grab the bull by the horns and play Balderdash, the game that’s hilarious beyond belief.

Balderdash Creates Hilarious Social Occasions for Any Party!
There are no wrong or right answers! Get as creative or crazy as you want. Convince your friends your answer is correct and score points! Earn bonus points by indentifying the correct answer. Balderdash will be the life of the party when you hear the hilarious answers your friends come up with!

Taboo

Taboo Review

Taboo Feature

  • 4 or more players.
  • Ages: Adult
It sounds so simple: get your team to name common words without voicing a few choice descriptors. But could you describe a wristwatch without mentioning time, wrist, or clock? Taboo rewards those who think--and speak--fast. The team that correctly identifies as many words as possible in a minute (measured with an hourglass timer) wins. If a member of the opposing team, armed with the blaring buzzer, catches the clue giver using any of the taboo words, a point is deducted from the group's score. It's a good idea to separate people who know each other well, because their familiarity can be too great an advantage. If the clue is spinach, prompting with "Mom made this every Monday" just doesn't seem fair, though it is permissible according to the rules. Playing Taboo requires an AA battery and a sense of humor--you'll need them both! The timer is included. Taboo is for four or more players. --Leah Ball How do you get your team to say diamond, if you can't say baseball, ring, carats, jewel or engagement' You might say, "These are a girl's best friend. Hope is a huge one. The World Series is played here. Some are found in the rough." Get your team to say the secret word. Give suggestive sentences, funny phrases or even one word hints as clues. But don't use any of the words on the card. That's Taboo! Each time your team shouts out the secret word, you get a point. But be careful! Your opponents will be "looking over your shoulder" - making sure you don't say any of the Taboo words. If you do and they catch you, they sound the buzzer and score the point! It's unspeakable fun. Take our word for it! For 4 or more players. Game includes: 504 cards, card holder, buzzer, timer, score pad, and instructions. Requires 2 "AA" alkaline batteries (not included).

Quiddler

Quiddler Review

Quiddler Feature

  • Easy to learn
  • Tons of replay value
  • Great family game, kids can compete with adults
  • The Play: 8 rounds per game, players draw and discard until someone forms their hand into words using two or more cards per word
  • Once a player goes out, everyone else gets one last chance to draw and put down the words they have made
The rules are brutal, but the rewards are worth it in this card game that works a bit like Scrabble. Although there is a solitary version of the game for one player, you can play with up to eight. Cards containing letters of the alphabet and special combinations of letters are dealt in increasing number each time the dealer completes a round. Once you've collected your share, you can discard and pick up a new card with each turn. The object is to turn all the letters in your possession into dictionary-proof words while leaving one stray card as a final discard. You want to be the first to accomplish the goal, of course, but there is a scoring system that makes the play competitive for everyone. One nice element is the cards themselves: the letter design is based on beautiful artwork from Celtic manuscripts. This card game is a 1999 Parents' Choice Silver Award winner. --Tom Keogh The challenge of Quiddler is to arrange your entire hand into everyday words. In this fast-paced game, draw and discard in turn. Try to use those high point letters, but don't get caught with them uncombined. A bonus is given for the most words in each round (so little words can help you win), as well as for the longest word. Quiddler is a delightful challenge for both rookies and word game lovers. For up to 8 players.
